Outlander: Blood of My Blood Will End When Jamie Fraser Is Born, Cast Reveals

Fans hoping to see a young Jamie Fraser in Outlander: Blood of My Blood may need to stay patient. According to the cast of the upcoming prequel, the character’s arrival is still far down the storyline.

The series explores the early love stories of Jamie and Claire’s parents through two parallel narratives: Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser in 18th-century Scotland, and Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp in WWI-era England.

Season 1 concluded with Julia and Henry attempting to time-travel through the stones, a development that could tie the prequel more closely to events in the original Outlander series. Speaking to Deadline, cast members Harriet Slater (Ellen), Jamie Roy (Brian), Hermione Corfield (Julia), and Jeremy Irvine (Henry) addressed how soon fans might meet baby Jamie.

When asked about the timeline for his character’s arrival, Roy joked about taking matters into his own hands. “A wee Jamie? I mean, I can get on my knees,” he said.

Corfield then revealed that Jamie’s birth marks a major planned milestone for the series. “Matt Roberts said when Jamie is born, that’s when [the show] ends,” she explained, referencing the showrunner and executive producer.

Roy emphasized just how far the story still has to go. “Well, he’s the third child, so we have a wee bit to go. We’re at child number zero at the moment. Hopefully, one of these days, we can see that on screen. Fans would love to see that as well.”

Blood of My Blood has already been renewed for a second season, giving the prequel room to expand the Fraser and Beauchamp backstories while the original series approaches its finale.

Season 8 of Outlander, the final chapter, will premiere on March 6, 2026. Episodes will release weekly on Fridays on Starz’s app and streaming platforms, with ten episodes planned.

With the prequel’s dual timelines and the introduction of potential time travel, the series may inch closer to the main Outlander narrative even without Jamie’s arrival onscreen.

For now, the story remains focused on the romances and family histories that ultimately shaped one of television’s most iconic couples.
