Misha Collins’ remarks were met with enthusiastic cheering at a recent event in Brazil, prompting the actor to quip, “So, not a big MAGA crowd here?”
Fans of Supernatural made it clear they were excited about the cast’s latest reunion — and that excitement only grew when Collins made a pointed comment about President Donald Trump.
Former co-stars Misha Collins, Kathryn Newton, Jim Beaver, and Rob Benedict, along with show director Richard Speight Jr., took the stage at CCXP in São Paulo on Thursday to celebrate 20 years of the series, which first premiered in 2006. Notably absent from the reunion were Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who starred as the demon-hunting Winchester brothers on the show that concluded in November 2020 after 15 seasons.

Fans filled the São Paulo Expo, making their excitement known with loud cheers throughout the event. The audience even joined in singing Kansas’ “Carry on Wayward Son” during the introduction, paying tribute to the classic rock tune that became synonymous with the series.
“When we’re back home in the U.S., nobody pays any attention to us anymore,” Collins told the crowd. “But here, there must be a lag or something because you still know what Supernatural is.”
Collins, best known for playing Castiel, received an especially strong response toward the end of the panel when a fan asked Newton, who portrayed Claire, what kind of monster she would want to face. Newton chose dragons, but Collins seized the moment to make a politically charged remark.
“You mean like, what kind of an evil monster character would we want to go up against?” Collins asked. “I think it’d be fun to take on Donald Trump.”
The comment sparked loud cheers from the audience, leading Collins to joke, “We’ve found our people. So, not a big MAGA crowd here?” The moderator did not respond and quickly moved the panel on to a video segment.
Earlier in the discussion, the moderator asked Newton what she imagined Claire might be doing if the character ever received a spinoff. “I’m sure Claire’s out there, still kicking ass and taking names,” Newton said. “There’s always going to be monsters, and somebody’s always got to find them.”
