Zack Snyder recently took to Instagram to share a new image of Henry Cavill’s Superman with fans, continuing his recent streak of posting photos from his personal archives. The filmmaker has been revisiting moments from the sets of several of his past projects, including Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Dawn of the Dead. At the same time, the Snyderverse fandom has intensified its calls for a revival, particularly following the recent announcement of Netflix’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery.
Although Snyder only joined Instagram relatively recently, he has been consistent in sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses from his earlier films. He frequently posts photographs he took himself on the sets of his DC superhero movies, offering fans a nostalgic look back at the era that helped define his vision of the DC universe.
Most recently, Snyder shared a black-and-white still of Henry Cavill as Superman from the set of Man of Steel (2013). He kept the caption brief, simply writing, “henrycavill iconic.” The monochrome image shows Cavill in his now-iconic Superman suit during a fight scene from the film.

Fans quickly filled the comments section, interpreting the hope symbol on Superman’s chest as a possible message from Snyder. One fan wrote, “That symbol still means hope. Always did. #restorethesnyderverse,” while another added, “I have a feeling Zack was already on to something I have hope.” Others echoed the excitement, commenting, “Zack, you did not have to go that hard on this post!!!! But we love it!” and “PLEASE TELL US THAT WE ARE BACK #restorethesnyderverse.”
While a return of the Snyderverse currently appears unlikely—especially following the success of James Gunn’s Superman, starring David Corenswet—the Netflix–Warner Bros. Discovery deal seems to have reignited optimism among fans who continue to hold out hope.
In addition to the Superman post, the Man of Steel director also shared an image of Antje Traue as Faora from the film. Praising her performance, Snyder captioned the photo, “@antjetraueofficial was awesome as Faora. Ferocious, elegant, and the way she moved was something else.”
