Jensen Ackles fans won’t have to wait much longer for the return of Tracker, with CBS officially bringing the hit crime procedural back for its fourth season in less than two weeks.
Ackles may always be closely associated with Dean Winchester from Supernatural, but the actor has continued to build an impressive list of roles since the long-running series ended. His recent appearances as Soldier Boy in Prime Video’s The Boys have become another major part of his career, and he is set to lead the upcoming spinoff Vought Rising alongside Aya Cash in 2027.
Ackles has also appeared in Tracker, the CBS procedural led by Justin Hartley. While his appearances have been more limited, his role as Russell Shaw has made him an important part of the series.
Now, Tracker is preparing to return with its fourth season. CBS has confirmed that Season 4 will premiere on Sunday, October 4, with new episodes continuing weekly. Viewers will also be able to stream each new episode on Paramount+ the day after its CBS broadcast.
The return comes less than three years after Tracker first premiered in 2024. In that relatively short period, CBS has already delivered three complete seasons, with the fourth now ready to begin.
What Is ‘Tracker’ About?
Tracker follows Colter Shaw, played by Justin Hartley, a lone-wolf reward seeker who travels across the country in his RV while helping police and private citizens solve crimes and locate missing people.
The show’s constantly changing locations have become part of its appeal, allowing each case to introduce a new setting and a different group of characters. That formula is set to continue into Season 4, although the production itself has already undergone a major change.
For the upcoming season, Tracker moved production from Ontario to Los Angeles. The relocation could prove significant for the show’s future, particularly given the continued investment in the series.
While CBS has not announced how long Tracker will ultimately run, the move suggests that the network continues to see potential in the procedural beyond its fourth season.
For now, fans have only a short wait remaining before Colter Shaw and the rest of the team return. Tracker Season 4 premieres October 4 on CBS, with episodes arriving on Paramount+ the following day.
