After more than a decade as a Netflix staple, Supernatural has officially left the platform — and for longtime fans, the loss feels sudden, even if it was inevitable.
The monster-hunting drama, which ran for 15 seasons on the WB and later the CW, had been streaming on Netflix since 2012. For years, it was one of the service’s most reliable comfort shows, with new seasons added shortly after they aired on television.
That long run came to an end because of licensing. When Supernatural wrapped its network run, Netflix secured the rights to host all 15 seasons for five years following the final episode. That finale aired on November 19, 2020, starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as brothers Sam and Dean Winchester — and those five years have now expired.
As a result, Supernatural is no longer available on Netflix.
It’s one of those shows people don’t realize they rely on until it’s suddenly gone — a familiar series that was always there for a rewatch, a comfort binge, or a full series marathon.
The good news is that the Winchesters aren’t disappearing for long.
All 15 seasons of Supernatural will begin streaming on Peacock starting December 22, giving fans a new home to continue watching the series just days after its Netflix exit.
For viewers who don’t subscribe to Peacock — or who simply want to avoid the show bouncing between platforms — Supernatural is also available to purchase digitally. On Prime Video, episodes are priced at $0.48 each or $8 per season, while Apple TV and Fandango Now offer seasons ranging from $10 to $25.
Peacock doesn’t currently have a special deal tied to the show’s arrival, but streaming promotions do surface from time to time. There are also ways some users can access Peacock Premium at little to no cost, depending on existing subscriptions and offers.
For now, Supernatural fans can rest easy knowing the series lives on — just in a new place.
