‘Supernatural’ Leaves Netflix Next Week

‘Supernatural’ Leaves Netflix Next Week

After more than a decade as one of Netflix’s most reliable staples, Supernatural is finally leaving the platform — and the end date is coming up fast. The monster-hunting series, which began on the WB before moving to the CW and running an incredible 15 seasons, has been streaming on Netflix since 2012. For many fans, it became one of those comforts you assume will always be there… until suddenly it’s not.

When the show ended its network run, Netflix signed a licensing agreement granting it five years of streaming rights from the date the final season aired. The countdown began the moment the last episode — the emotional Nov. 19, 2020 finale — closed the door on Sam and Dean’s long journey.

Now those five years are officially up, and that means Supernatural is leaving Netflix on Dec. 17.

For longtime fans, the news feels a bit like losing an old friend. The series has been a constant, a go-to comfort watch, and a place to revisit Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as Sam and Dean Winchester facing demons, angels, monsters, and destiny itself.

But there’s good news: the show won’t be off streaming for long.

All 15 seasons of Supernatural are confirmed to arrive on Peacock just five days later, on Dec. 22. So the disappearance is temporary — more of a platform hop than a true goodbye.

For those who prefer owning the episodes outright, the series remains available to purchase across several digital storefronts. Prime Video currently lists episodes for $0.48 each or $8 per season, while Apple TV and Fandango Now offer complete seasons ranging between $10 and $25. That means you can avoid the streaming shuffle entirely if you’d rather keep the Winchesters permanently in your library.

Of course, if you’re determined to binge all 327 episodes before Dec. 17, it’s technically possible… but only if you’re willing to watch roughly 11 episodes a day, every day, without skipping sleep or work. In other words, only the most dedicated hunters need apply.

While Peacock doesn’t currently have any special deals available, it’s always worth checking for holiday or post-Cyber Monday discounts. There are also ways to access Peacock Premium at free or reduced cost through certain providers, depending on your subscriptions.

For now, fans may want to spend this final week revisiting their favorite episodes before the Impala drives off Netflix for good.
