After 13 years on Netflix, the beloved dark fantasy series Supernatural is moving to new streaming platforms. Fans of the show starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles now have two new ways to watch all 15 seasons of the series.
Supernatural will leave Netflix on December 18. However, starting December 1, all 15 seasons will be available on Prime Video. Later in the month, on December 22, the series will also arrive on Peacock, giving viewers another option to catch up on the Winchester brothers’ adventures.
This marks the first time in 13 years that Supernatural will not be available on Netflix, where it debuted back in 2012. According to ScreenRant, the series was among Nielsen’s Top 20 Streaming Programs for the first half of 2025, logging 11.9 billion minutes viewed and ranking No. 15 on Netflix, even surpassing the iconic comedy series Friends.
Supernatural remains the longest-running series in CW history and holds a 93% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. The show follows Dean and Sam Winchester (Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki) as they travel across the country hunting supernatural creatures in their 1967 Chevy Impala. The departure from Netflix comes as the CW’s original licensing agreement with the streamer expires, a deal that granted Netflix exclusive rights for five years following the series finale.
Stars of Supernatural Keep Busy
Since the series ended, both Ackles and Padalecki have taken on new projects. Ackles has appeared in CBS’s Tracker, had roles in The Boys, and will star in the spinoff Vought Rising. Padalecki is set to join Ackles in The Boys’ upcoming fifth season, alongside fellow Supernatural alum Misha Collins. While Ackles’ action series Countdown was canceled earlier this year, Padalecki has appeared in Fire Country and will soon star in a new medical drama on CBS.
Fans can also continue following the Winchesters through a new licensed comic book series written by Grek Pak, illustrated by Eder Messias, colored by Thyago Brandao, and lettered by Jeff Eckleberry. The comic is set before the events of Season 1’s finale.
All 15 seasons of Supernatural will be available on Prime Video starting December 1 and on Peacock beginning December 22. The series will officially leave Netflix on December 18.
