If you’ve seen Wednesday, you know the titular Addams character isn’t exactly known for laid-back vibes — either in personality or wardrobe. But Jenna Ortega, who brought the brooding teen to life, just proved that even Wednesday’s dark uniform can get a fresh, casual twist.
The Emmy nominee turned heads at a Netflix FYC event for her hit dramedy series on Sunday, where she managed to fuse businesswear polish with cozy fall comfort.
Styled by Enrique Melendez, Ortega stepped onto the red carpet in a gray-and-black pinstripe vest paired with matching wide-leg slacks, both from the Ann Demeulemeester Fall/Winter 2025 ready-to-wear collection. Dangling straps from the trousers added a modern edge to the look.
The outfit was a clever nod to Wednesday Addams’s classic school uniform — and it’s not the first time Ortega has looked to Ann Demeulemeester to channel her character’s dark allure.
Back in July, just before Wednesday’s second-season premiere, the Harper’s Bazaar summer cover star wore a slate, striped suit from the Belgian fashion house, complete with a frilly black blouse.
This time, however, Ortega’s team gave the structured pieces a relaxed spin. The vest was layered over a stormy gray thermal long sleeve, while a silver cross necklace added a subtle gothic statement. Think more Hot Topic than haughty boarding school.
